SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

Heidi’s looking for help! She is hoping to run a Messy/Sweaty Church/Fun Club Saturday on Saturday March 28th from 12:30-2:25 for children Primary age. Looking for volunteers to help with games, crafts, snacks, and drama, the more the better!! There will be a brief meeting after worship next week in the hall for all those willing to help out! Please consider getting involved, thank you.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet again on Wednesday 18th February at 10am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM Help is available for you for small tasks and to take you to appointments. Just contact either your elder or the coordinator, Liz Glashan (01349 861532) remembering to allow time for arrangements to be made.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The group are meeting at 1.30pm in the Church Hall on Wednesday 18th February at the start of lent. They will study “Conversations – Lenten Studies” prepared by the Scottish Bible Society. The first of these looks at Luke 3: 1-20, looking at the mission of John the Baptist. Please come along to join us.

CHOIR PRACTICE The next choir practice will take place in the church, on Sunday 22nd February at 10.15am. Anyone willing to join in this will be most welcome.

HOLY COMMUNION A fortnight today, Sunday 1st March, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at both morning and evening worship. The Kirk Session are asked to meet at 10.40am in the small hall prior to morning worship.

MARYBURGH CRAFT GROUP This group meets in Maryburgh Free Church hall and knits and crochets (e.g. gloves, hats and scarves) for charities to add to Blythswood boxes, hats for the Seamens’ Missions, blankets for Malawi etc. The participants would be pleased to receive any unwanted wool you may have which they will share. Liz Glashan (01349 861532) is the contact person for any more information you might require. There is a box in the annex for any donations you can bring along.

Christian Aid: Count your Blessings 2015 This year again Christian Aid has produced material for reflection during Lent, including versions for children and young people. There is a short “thought for the day” each day, with a different theme each week. Prayer requests, as well as fundraising suggestions, are also included. Copies can be ordered by phone on 0870 078 7788, by e-mail from orders@christian-aid.org, or downloaded from christianaid.org.uk/lent. There is also an app available from the Apple App store or Google Play.

World Day of Prayer The World Day of Prayer this year is Friday 6th March. The service has been prepared by Christian women in the Bahamas. Ferintosh Congregation (both men and women) are invited to the local service will be held in St Lawrence’s Church in Dingwall at 7.30pm on that date. Anyone who would like to attend, and who needs or can offer transport, is asked to contact Janet Winchester on 865308.

LUNCHTIME FELLOWSHIP 6TH FEBRUARY Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way with this event, and to all who attended. Doug and Lesley McRoberts’ account of their time at St Andrews Church in Malta, and their involvement in its “Out of Africa…into Malta” project upporting stranded refugees from Africa and the Middle East, was both informative and inspiring. Donations on the day plus proceeds from the sale of the booklet “A Journey of Faith” realised the sum of £220, which will be sent to the project through the Guild national office.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT 23rd February to 8th March is Fairtrade Fortnight 2015. Look out for information displays and promotions in local stores, and if you do not find any, ask why! The emphasis this year is on producers of coca, tea and sugar. Read about some of these producers, and learn how Fairtrade has helped them and their communities at www.fairtrade.co.uk/fortnight.
