Church News Sunday 7th June
SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.
PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet again on Wednesday 10th June at 10am.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM Please come to us if you need some help. We will be happy to try to assist. Contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591) but remember to allow time for arrangements to be made.
BOOKS FOR MALAWI Many thanks to all who have donated books for Malawi. As a result of your generosity we will be able to send a good and varied collection. The consignment will probably be sent off towards the end of June, so there is still time to add any suitable books you may have. Some people have asked what they can do if they do not have any books, and Jan Baxter of Alba Aid has indicated that a contribution towards the transport costs would be greatly appreciated. If anyone would like to do this, please contact Janet Winchester (after 15th June).
CONGREGATIONAL BOARD AND KIRK SESSION The next meeting of the Congregational Board will take place in the Church on Thursday 11th June at 7pm. This will be followed by the Kirk Session Meeting. Copies of minutes and agendas are available to uplift. Those who receive them by email will have them by now.
RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church hall next Wednesday 10th June from 2pm-3.30pm. This will be the last one until September. Why not drop in for some tea or coffee, home bakes and the all important chat? Whether you come along regularly or haven’t been before, we look forward to welcoming you there.
THE LEPROSY MISSION There will be an opportunity to hear internationally renowned speakers Dan and Babs Izzett from Zimbabwe talk about their experience of leprosy. They will be at 18 Auldcastle Road, Inverness between 1pm and 4pm on Monday 8th June. Further details at tlmscotland.org.uk/calendar
GUILD An outing to Munro’s Nursery has been arranged for Wednesday 17th June leaving at 6pm. This will include a light supper, a talk from Mr Munro and a chance to browse. The cost per person is £7.95. If you’d like to attend, please sign up on the sheet provided at the back of the Church as soon as possible. Should be a good evening. Look forward to having you with us.
The Guild is planning a visit to Cameron House on 1st July. The theme of the programme will be VE Day. The Guild would welcome anyone who has memories of that day (first-hand or inherited) which they are willing to share with the residents to join them for the visit. Any memorabilia which anyone could bring along or loan would also be greatly appreciated. Please sign the sheet at the back of the Church, or speak to Janet Winchester.
