Andy’s Blog 10th June

Had an interesting meeting with Tony Innes yesterday about the new Commemorative Garden in the grounds of Ben Wyvis primary school. The garden was Tony’s idea and became a reality with the help of Tom Thomas and some of the school children, and with donations of materials from many people in the community. It was established to commemorate the lives of the young men from the local community who gave their lives during the First World War. As a former serviceman, remembering those who gave their lives for our liberty and freedom is something that is very close to my heart and I feel honoured and privileged to be involved in the official opening of the Garden which will take place at 3.15pm on Thursday the 2nd of July.
