Church News Sunday 28th June

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. The Sunday Club and FYF are then on holiday and will return on Sunday 16th August. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group have now suspended their meetings for a few weeks and will start again in the first week in August. However, although we are not meeting for the next few weeks, that doesn’t mean to say that we need to stop praying and I would encourage everyone to take time to pray each week.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM If you need some help with getting to appointments or small household tasks or you’d just like a wee visit, contact the team. You can do this either through your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591). We will make every effort to assist. Please allow time for arrangements to be made.

BOOKS FOR MALAWI Many thanks to all who have donated books for Malawi. Assistance would be welcome in the Church hall on Friday 3rd July from 2.30pm to check over and pack up the books which have been collected for school and college libraries in Malawi.

World Mission Council Newsletter The latest issue, on the subject of relationships with Christians and Churches overseas is available. Those who take Life and Work should receive a copy along with their magazine. Others may pick up a copy from the table at the back of the Church.

GUILD The Guild is having a visit to Cameron House on 1st July leaving Maryburgh/Conon Bridge at 1.45pm – those participating will be informed of transport arrangements. The theme of the programme will be VE Day. The Guild would welcome anyone who has memories of that day (first-hand or inherited) which they are willing to share with the residents to join them for the visit. Any memorabilia which anyone could bring along or loan would also be greatly appreciated. Please sign the sheet at the back of the Church, or speak to Janet Winchester.

COMMEMORATION A Commemorative Garden has been established in the grounds of Ben Wyvis school to remember the lives of young men from our community who lost their lives in the First World War. A short service of commemoration will be held on Thursday 2nd July at 3.15pm to mark the opening of this garden and all are welcome to come along.

FERINTOSH FOCUS The latest edition of the Newsletter is ready for distribution. Please uplift from the annex.
