Church News Sunday 30th August

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF The Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet on Wednesday 2nd September at 10.00am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM  As always there is a team of volunteers to help you as required. If you need assistance contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591). Do allow time so that arrangements can be made.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY This group meets each Wednesday in the Church Hall at 1.30pm for approximately an hour. It would be wonderful if we had some new members join us even if you can’t do every week but only occasionally. Please give prayerful consideration to coming along to meet with a very welcoming group of ladies. We will be studying “Evangelism: A Way of Life” from the LifeBuilder Bible Study Series of Scripture Union. The study entitled “Creative Communication” looking at Luke 10: 25-37 is our starting point on Wednesday 9th September. Look forward to having you with us then!

HOLY COMMUNION Next Sunday we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at morning and evening worship. Could the Session please meet in the small hall at 10.40am prior to morning worship.

CHOIR The next choir practice takes place on Sunday 13th September at 10.15 am. There are still a few vacant seats in the choir and you would be made most welcome! Why not come along?

HARVEST THANKSGIVING At the end of next month on Sunday 27th September we will be having our Harvest Thanksgiving Service. This will be a Family Service, and we will be asking for donations for the Blythswood Highland Foodbank. More details will be given in the coming weeks.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the church hall on Wednesday 9th  September from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not join us for some tea/coffee, home bakes and the all-important chat? Whether you’ve been long before or are new to this, we look forward to seeing you there.

NEWSLETTER The next edition of the Ferintosh Focus is due out mid-September. All articles should be with the Editorial team by Friday 11th September.

GUILD The first meeting of this session of the Guild will take place on Monday 7th September at 7.30pm in the Church Hall. We are beginning with a look at the Discussion Topic for the year, “working through conflict”. This should be a thought – provoking but also fun evening. So do feel free to join us on this occasion. The Guild is for all – a movement inclusive of ages and genders. The Projects for the coming three years will be decided upon and short summaries are available today so that Guild members can have the information before making the decision on the 7th. The treasurer will be available on that evening to accept the annual subscription which is £12.

Guild members – think of one person you could ask to join us to help us grow and create a lively group! Tickets are available for the Annual Meeting in Dundee next Saturday (5th September). Please contact Janette Steele if you’d like to attend this inspiring event.
