Church News Sunday 27th September

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet on Wednesday 30th September at 10.00am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM If you need some help this week, please contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591) and we will try to be of assistance. Remember it takes time to organise so don’t leave it until the last minute to ask.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The passage for study this week is Luke 14: 25-35 and it is under the heading “Counting the Cost”. The group meets weekly in the Church Hall on Wednesday at 1.30pm. There is Bible reading and discussion which can be wide-ranging. The ladies are friendly and every opinion and observation is valued. However, listening is also valued as a worthwhile skill. Please try to join us!

HARVEST THANKSGIVING Thanks to everyone who brought flowers and foliage and who helped to decorate the Church for the Harvest Thanksgiving.  The flowers for distribution can be collected following the evening service tonight.

CHURCH FINANCES So far the Gift Day has raised a total of £7,380 which is an increase of over £800 on last year. This excellent contribution is very much appreciated in helping us towards achieving a balanced budget for the end of the year.

CROSSREACH This year’s calendar and catalogue for cards are now available. Please place order on the sheet at the back of the Church or at the teatime after the Service.

The Leprosy Mission The home shopping catalogue is now available. It can be found at the back of the church. Orders sent by Margaret are post free or send direct and pay postage. I will be sending an order early in October.

GUILD The meeting of the Guild in the Church Hall on Monday 5th October at 7.30pm will take the form of a film evening. The film is “Albert’s Memorial” and all are welcome to join this meeting. Look forward to seeing you there. (Due to unforeseen circumstances this has been brought forward on the syllabus!)

World Mission Council Newsletter A few copies of the latest edition, on the topical subject of Human Trafficking and Immigration, are available on the table at the back of the Church. Please feel free to pick up a copy.
