Church News Sunday 7th February

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The Prayer Group meets on Wednesday 10th February at 10.00am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM The contact for the Team can be made either through your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591). We will try our very best to be of assistance. Please remember to give time for arrangements to be made.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY We begin our studies for Lent on Wednesday 10th February in the Church Hall from 1.30 -2.30 approximately. We will be using the book “Welcoming the Way of the Cross” as a basis for our look at a journey from Ash Wednesday to Easter Day. The introductory section is called “because he first loved us”. Please give prayerful consideration to joining us on our Lenten Pilgrimage. You will be made most welcome.

USED STAMPS Please remember to bring your used stamps along to Church for the World Mission Council appeal. The red box is in the annexe.

GUILD The Leadership Team has rearranged the meeting which had been cancelled due to inclement weather. It has been arranged for Monday 15th February at 7.30pm in the Church hall. Rev Andrew Graham will speak to the theme that evening. Remember the Guild is an inclusive organisation for all ages and genders. We’d love to have you with us on that evening.

SOUPER SUNDAY As in previous years, we propose to follow the Souper Sunday programme devised by the Church of Scotland supporting the HIV programme. The Kirk Session and members of the Congregation will lead the morning worship next Sunday 14th February, and this will be followed by a simple soup lunch in the hall to raise some money for this cause. If you feel you could help by making a pot of soup (six portions) or donating crusty bread, please add your name to the list at the rear of the Church. Please put this date in your diary and try to come along for the soup and the fellowship. Thank you.

CROSSREACH COMPETITION Design the Christmas card for 2016 for CrossReach. The competition is open to all ages and the closing date is the end of March. For full details see the poster on the notice board just inside the Church hall. Still lots of time to get designing!

Highland Foodbank Help feed people in crisis this Lent. They are asking people to donate 40p for the 40 fasting days of Lent. All you have to do is find an old jam jar and start collecting 40p each fasting day from 10th February to 26th March. The £16 you have collected over Lent can also be gift aided which provides Highland Foodbank with a total of £20 – enough to provide food to a family in crisis this Easter. See flyer on notice board inside the hall or on the Church notice board at the gate.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church hall on Wednesday 10th February from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat? Whether you’ve joined us before, or not, we look forward to seeing you there, even if only for a few minutes. Anyone willing to help with baking on an occasional basis should contact Janet Murray. Many thanks!

BEETLE DRIVE There is to be a “Beetle Drive” in the Church hall on Saturday 27th February from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Cost is £1.00 per Adult and 50p per Child. Tea, juice and biscuits will be provided. We hope you will come and join us in what should be a fun evening.
