Church News Sunday 12th June

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP There will be no prayer meetings for the next couple of weeks but they will resume again on Wednesday the 22nd June at 10.00am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE Please contact the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), or your elder if you need some help. We have a small group of volunteers who will try their best to assist.   The Team is getting smaller as the volunteers are getting less able themselves. If you could help the Team even on an occasional basis, pleased speak to Janette Steele, coordinator.

KIRK SESSION The Kirk Session will meet on Thursday 23rd June at 7.00pm in the Church hall. Copies of minutes from the previous meeting are now available.

NEWSLETTER The next edition of the Ferintosh Focus Newsletter will be published later this month. Any articles should be with the editorial team by Wednesday 15th June.

Guild Ross Presbyterial Council Rally is to be held on Tuesday 14th June at 7.30pm in Rosskeen Parish Church in Alness. The speaker is Richard Sulu from Malawi. We are warmly invited to attend. Let the members of the Guild Team know if you’d like to go and we can arrange to go together.

There is a list at the back of the Church for those who are able to visit Cameron House on Wednesday 22nd June leaving Conon Bridge at 2.30pm. This is always a very uplifting experience and it would be really good if as many Guild members as possible could come along to support the work in the CrossReach Residential Home for those living with dementia.

COFFEE MORNING Janette and Morag Steele are holding a coffee morning on Saturday 18th June in aid of the Haematology Unit at Raigmore Hospital. This will be in the Church Hall from 10am until 12noon. Admission by donation (minimum £2). There will be a Bring and Buy stall. We hope you can come along to support this as the Unit helps so many people with so many different conditions – anaemia, haemophilia, blood clots, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma – to name but a few. Hope you can make it for a cuppa, some chat and to raise some money for this cause.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK The foodbank are short of long-life orange juice, tinned ham, corned beef, sugar and sweet biscuits. If you could donate any of these items in June/July they will be gratefully received and will go to help people and families in desperate need in our community.

CHURCH FINANCES In line with a previous decision to keep the congregation up to date with our finances, for the month of May our total income was £3,835.57 and our total expenditure was £4,876.74 resulting in a deficit of £1,041.17. When this is added to previous months, thus far, up until the end of May, we are running with a deficit of £3,379.86.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK Thanks to the generosity of the communities of Conon Bridge and Maryburgh, the grand total of £1853.91 was raised through the efforts of all those involved in  Christian Aid week  during May.  Thanks are due to everyone who helped in any way to achieve this wonderful figure, not forgetting the team responsible for ensuring the funds were efficiently counted and banked!  The soup lunch was well supported, film sheets were taken to test those of a ‘quizzical’ frame of mind, and the volunteers made herculean efforts during a week of inclement weather, to go from door to door encouraging people to donate to this worthy charity.  Christian Aid and the people of Bangladesh, particularly, will be indebted to Ferintosh for their continued support.

Order of Service for this week
