SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning
PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will start again on Wednesday 14th September at 10.00am in the small hall
HOLY COMMUNION Next Sunday 4th September, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at morning and evening worship. Could the Kirk Session please meet in the small hall at 10.45 prior to morning worship.
USED STAMPS If you have any used stamps for the World Mission Council appeal at home, could you please bring them to Church during August. The year’s collection will be handed over on 3rd September. It is helpful if stamps are trimmed (half inch border all round if possible, but if not perforations must be intact) and separated into UK and foreign. Stamps may be placed in the red box in the annexe.
GUILD The Guild resumes its programme on Monday 5th September at 2pm. We hope to have a visit from the Miriam Singers. It would be so good to have members of the congregation and not just Guild folk to come along and enjoy a time of laughter and love together.
For those who might consider coming along to join the Guild, we are meeting mostly in the afternoons this session and the cost of the subscription is £12 for the year, which can be brought along to the first meeting. Do consider coming even if it can’t be every month. We’d love to have you with this forward-looking, informed group.
GIFT DAY The Kirk Session wish to thank all who have so generously donated to our Gift Days in the past, however after much prayer, given our current financial situation where we are already running a deficit of around £7500, have agreed to hold another Gift Day this year. This will be on Saturday 3rd September and by now you should have had a letter outlining all of this delivered to you. On the morning of Saturday the 3rd, tea and coffee will be served in the hall between 10.00am and 12 noon and there will be an opportunity to leave your donation envelope.
SUPPLIES FOR EKWENDENI HOSPITAL The Kirk Session has agreed that this year we should collect bandages and gloves for Ekwendeni Hospital. Baskets will be available in the Church vestibule for through August to receive donations of:
- Bandages of all sizes in original wrapping, and with a “use by date” (if applicable) of at least one year ahead
- Thin gloves (“surgical gloves”) – any size
- Heavier duty gloves (“Marigold” or equivalent) – any size
LADIES BIBLE STUDY The Bible study group will begin on Wednesday 7th September at 1.30pm in the Church hall. We hope to study the book of Hebrews this session. Please give prayerful consideration to coming along to join us. We are a supportive group who listen to each other and try to apply God’s word to our lives.
PASTORAL CARE The Team would love to help you. Ask either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591) and we will try our very best to be of assistance. Do allow time to make arrangements if you need to be taken to appointments.
NEWSLETTER The next edition of the Ferintosh Focus is due out next month. All contributions are required to be with the editorial team by 8th September.
