What a great time of fellowship we enjoyed on Friday at the monthly Soup Lunch. Six delicious soups to choose from along with tasty crusty bread! The welcome was at the door with Pat; the ladies in the kitchen serving the soups were Christine, Janet W., Mhairi, Janette F., Irene (who also made available information about the Guild Project– Prospects- All Friends Together) The tables were pretty even before the visitors arrived. Janette S. used Susan Brown’s Message from the Manse from the latest Dornoch Cathedral News as the thought for the day and this was followed by prayer including Grace.
The highlight of the day was the short introduction to “The Black Friar” which SG Maclean gave after the soup was eaten. Shona has written four books set in Scotland and Northern Ireland and now two set in London during the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell. Her visit attracted folk who are not usual attendees and that was excellent. Shona also answered particular and general questions about her writing. A really splendid time!
Prospects gained £186 from the generosity of those attending. Thank everyone who made it such a success.
