Church News Sunday 11th December

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10.00am in the small hall. John Fraser is leading them and if you would like them to pray for someone at those meetings please contact John on 861140. The Prayer Group are happy to pray for any requests which any of the congregation have. Feel free to put any in the box in the vestibule.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The final meeting (for this year!)of the group will be on Wednesday 14th December at 1.30pm in the Church hall. We continue in our study of Hebrews at chapter 8 under the heading “God’s New Deal”. It would be lovely if you could come along. We’d love to have you with us to study God’s word. Please give it prayerful thought and come along in the New Year.

FLOWER CALENDAR The Flower Calendar is now ready for collection and can be uplifted from the back of the Church.

PASTORAL CARE Please contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591) if you need some help. We will try our very best to be of assistance. Remember we do require time to arrange lifts to appointments.

MARYBURGH FREE CHURCH CAROL SERVICE Maryburgh Free Church will be holding a Christmas Carol Service on Friday 23rd December at 6.30pm.

SHOEBOX APPEAL Thanks are due to all who donated to this year’s appeal, the men and women of Ferintosh congregation who checked and filled boxes in Maryburgh Free Church hall for Blythswood. An amazing total of 11,701 boxes.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church hall on Wednesday 14th December from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat. There will be a small sales table of Christmas decorations available and you may even find that “special gift” you’ve been looking for. We look forward to seeing you there.

CHURCH FINANCES For the month of November our total income was £3,005.96 and our expenditure was £4,654.94 meaning thus far for 2016, up until the end of November, we are running with a deficit of £2,792.58.

GUILD The Prospects Group (Worship for people with learning difficulties) Dingwall have invited Guild groups to their Christmas party on Friday 16th at 7pm in Dingwall Free Church. Some of the Guild have signed up to this and if anyone else is interested in joining us then please sign the sheet at the back of the Church.

FERINTOSH FOCUS Copies of the December Ferintosh Focus Newsletter are available today for those who distribute them.

CROWN CHURCH QUIET DAY Saturday 17th December from 12noon – 4pm. Experience the peace and beauty of the candlelit Crown Church, a haven from the bustle outside. Come and go as you please. Refreshments (small donation) available.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Have you thought of a reverse Advent Calendar? Instead of getting something from the Calendar, why not put something for the Foodbank into a box/bag/basket each day of Advent to help those in need this season.
