Church News Sunday 5th March

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is no Crèche today.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10.00am in the small hall. The Prayer Group are happy to pray for any requests which any of the congregation have. Feel free to put any in the box in the vestibule.

PASTORAL CARE If you need some help, do contact the Team. You can do this either via your elder or the coordinator, Janet Winchester (01349 865308). We will try our very best to assist. Please allow time to make arrangements if you need to be taken to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The Ladies Bible Study will be held on Wednesday 8th March at 1.30pm in the small hall. We aim to finish our studies on Hebrews by looking at chapter 13. For 6 weeks from Wednesday 15th March we will then be following a series of studies for Lent, called At the Cross. This would be a good chance for any ladies who do not currently attend the Ladies Bible Study to give it a try. We are a friendly, informal group, and our time together is usually enjoyable as well as instructive. No-one is required to read or speak unless they wish to do so.

NEWSLETTTER The next edition of the Ferintosh Focus Newsletter will be published towards the end of the month. Articles should be with the Editorial team by Saturday 18th March.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church hall on Wednesday 8th March from 2pm-3.30pm. This event gives the opportunity to meet together for a chat, while enjoying some tea or coffee and home baking. Why not drop in and join us? We look forward to welcoming you there.

GUILD The next meeting of the Guild will take place tomorrow 6th March at 2pm in the Church hall. Rev Rattenbury, who is chaplain to the Highland Hospice, will speak on the history of Black Isle Churches. Anyone interested in the Guild or in the topic is very welcome. Members of the Guilds of St Clements and Castle Street Churches have also been invited to what promises to be an interesting afternoon. Guild members are reminded of the invitation to Castle Street Guild’s Social Afternoon on Wednesday 8th March at 2.30pm. Offers of/requests for transport should be addressed to any member of the Leadership Team.

KIRK SESSION The Kirk Session will meet at 7.00pm on Thursday 9th March 2017. Minutes and Agendas are available to uplift now. Elders who receive their Minutes and Agenda should have them by now. Members of the Congregation are welcome to attend Kirk Session Meetings as observers but are not allowed to contribute to any discussions that take place unless invited to do so by the Chairperson. Also, from time to time observers may be asked to leave a meeting if any items of Restricted Business are on the Agenda.

CRECHE We were very glad to welcome two new volunteers to the crèche team last week. Very many thanks to these two ladies. This means we will now be in a position to continue to offer a crèche each Sunday. If anyone else has been thinking about it, and now feels inspired to join the team, do please contact Janet Winchester (01349 865308). The more volunteers, the less often each person appears on the rota.

World Mission Council News Letter The most recent edition of this Newsletter is now available. Those who receive “Life and Work” should already have received a copy. There are a few extra copies on the table at the back of the Church, so do please take one. The theme this time is Fairtrade. Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 27th February until 12th March. Information is also available on the Fairtrade Foundation website.

BEETLE DRIVE There is to be a Beetle Drive in the Church Hall on Saturday 18th  March starting at 6.30pm. Cost is £1 per adult and 50p per child. Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you at what should be a fun evening.
