On Wednesday 5th of July, eight members of the Guild paid a visit to Cameron House, Inverness, which is run by CrossReach for those who are diagnosed as having dementia.

After a short worship service enjoyed by residents, family members, staff and Guild members— singing old hymns which were relevant to troubled times— Pat read a lovely poem about remembering all the things of childhood. Janet then did a short charades game of guess the song which Vera Lynn sang. This was the theme, her 100th birthday earlier this year.

We were able to see the work which has begun to make a dementia friendly garden. Hopefully we will be able to help stock the garden when it is ready since the budget has been well used up in preparing the area.

Once again, we enjoyed our cuppa afterwards and felt quite uplifted being able to talk with the residents and to appreciate the wonderful work that is done there in God’s name.
