Church News Sunday 11th February

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE Please don’t hesitate to call on the team for help. Either contact your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and we will do our very best to assist. Please allow time for arrangements to be made to take you to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Lent begins on Wednesday 14th February and the ladies will meet on that day at 1pm to begin our series for Lent entitled “Living Faith – Invitations from the Cross”. This is the start of six group studies for the six weeks leading up to Easter. The first Invitation is “Invitation to forgiveness”. Why not make it your Lent resolution to join us?  Please note the earlier start time for one week only.

INDUCTION The Presbytery of Ross has confirmed that the Induction of the Rev’d Stephen Macdonald as Minister of Ferintosh Parish Church will take place on Friday 16th February at 7pm in our Church. Please come along and welcome Stephen, Tracey, Michael, Hannah and Joshua to our Parish. The Induction will be followed by a tea in our Church hall to which everyone is invited. There are lists at the rear of the Church for anybody able to assist with the tea and for anyone who can provide some home baking.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church Hall on Wednesday 14th February from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in for some tea/coffee and home baking and the all important chat? We look forward to welcoming you there.

GUILD Invitation from Castle Street Guild. Castle Street Guild invites Ferintosh Guild to “Love is in the Air”, an afternoon of music and tea, on Wednesday 14th February at 2.30pm in Castle Street Church Hall. Unfortunately this clashes with our own February River Cafe, but it would be good if some Guild members, or others interested, could attend. Please add your name to the list at the back of the Church if you would like to go, indicating whether you require or can provide transport, or speak to Janet Winchester (01349 865308).

SUNDAY TEAS There are still a few vacant spaces on the Sunday Teas rota. If you feel you can help provide tea and biscuits following Morning Worship, can you please add your name to the list in the hall? Your participation in this would be most welcome. Many thanks.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK This service is sadly needed more than ever with more people being helped each year. Can you help to make life a little easier for those who are in difficulties by buying a little extra and donating it to the Foodbank? Every small donation makes a big difference. Thank you for your wonderful generosity until now.

LOCHBROOM AND ULLAPOOL INDUCTION The Ordination and Induction of the Rev Heidi Jones Hercus as Minister of Loch Broom and Ullapool Church of Scotland takes place on Saturday, 24th February at 11am in Ullapool. Heidi spent several months with us in 2015 as part of her training for the ministry.

PASTORAL DUTIES Rev’d Russel Smith can be contacted on 861011 if required for any Pastoral duties.
