The Guild members from Ferintosh and Hamilton Bardrainey had another great day out together in Perth on Wednesday 11th July.
On arrival we had a snack and each group took off to do “their own thing”. Some went for a stroll along the riverside and met a church outreach group where they were able to suggest prayers of thanksgiving. They also paid another visit to St John’s Church. Another group decided to “hit the shops”. We were able to see the bargains purchased. Another group headed to the Museum where they learned about Melville J Gray from Kinnoul in Perth who went to New Zealand aged 19 and prospered; met his future wife when aged 43 and they got married when he was 91! That constitutes a long engagement.
Getting together for a meal before heading for the buses home was a lovely time of fellowship. It is so lovely to meet up with our now old friends and looking forward to catching up with them at the National Gathering in Caird Hall, Dundee in September.
