Church News Sunday 9th June

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

BREAKFAST CLUB Breakfast Club for nursery and primary children is today at 10.20am.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued.

Informal prayer time before the morning service From 1015-1045 each Sunday the posh room is available for prayer spoken and unspoken, for our church, for the world and for current needs. You can come and go within that time so no need to stay for the half an hour. Feel free to drop in.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM You can give us a call if you need some help. Call your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349861591), and we will do our best to assist. Remember to allow time for arrangements to be made if you need to be taken to an appointment.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Next Wednesday in the Church Hall at 1.30pm a warm welcome awaits you to come and join us in the study of the scriptures. We are looking at God’s Creation from a Celtic perspective and will have “Seed” as the topic helping us to examine faith and our connections to God. Do come along.

BUNDLES OF FUN For all parents/carers, babies + toddlers, every Thursday in the hall from 1pm-2:30pm. Come along and relax over a cup of tea/coffee whilst you watch the children play.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Sadly the need continues for those who, through no fault of their own very often, are unable to make ends meet and the foodbank can be a lifeline. Non-perishable foodstuffs are always needed. Think about what you might put into your basket this week, which might need limited amount of cooking since you might not have much access to cooking facilities. You have been so generous in the past and I ask that you continue in your generosity and prayers.

FERINTOSH FOCUS Folders of the June edition of the Ferintosh Focus are available in the annexe for those who kindly distribute them.

Christian Aid week 12th – 18th May 2019 Thanks to our ‘merry band’ of counters we are now able to announce the total collected this year for Christian Aid.  The final figure surpassed expectations and was a massive £1910.36.  In these days of our society racing towards a cashless society this is indeed a wonderful effort on the part everyone played in door to door and supermarket collections, the soup lunch, plus generous donations from the congregations of Conon and Maryburgh churches, including the wider community of friends & family. Christian Aid will benefit greatly from this sum and the money raised throughout the U.K. helping those in Sierra Leone build improved health care facilities and the needy throughout the world. A very big thank-you from me, Joan MacKenzie.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church Hall on Wednesday 12th June from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in and join us for some tea/coffee and home baking, while enjoying meeting up with friends? This will be our last cafe for this session as we have a well earned break in July/August, meeting up again in September. If you can provide some baking for this event, please add your name to the list at the back of the church so we can have an idea of variety and quantities of “eats”. Many thanks. We look forward to seeing you there.

TEN PIN BOWLING Once again we are planning an evening of Ten Pin Bowling. This will be on Wednesday 19th June leaving the car park beside the Church at 6.30pm to be at the venue for 7pm. The cost is £6 per person, which is the charge made by the Roller Bowl and includes the entry fee and hire of shoes. (This means we pay for one game and have a voucher for a free second game.) Refreshments can be purchased as required at the venue. If you wish to come along, then please add your name to the list at the back of the church to give an indication of numbers. This is always a fun evening so we look forward to seeing you there.

PASTORAL DUTIES Rev’d Stephen Macdonald can be contacted on 864273 if required for any Pastoral duties.
