Church News Sunday 30th November

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet at 10am on Wednesday 3rd December in the hall. All are welcome to come and join us.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM Do contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), if you feel we could help you. Please allow time for arrangements to be made if you need to be taken to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Do come along to this group which meets weekly on a Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Church Hall. We study the Bible to try to discern the meaning of it in our lives today. In the next weeks we hope to use the Christian Aid material about Advent. Hopefully this will give a refreshing way to look at the Christmas story.

COMMUNITY CHOIR  The Community Choir has now stopped until the New Year.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Café takes place in the church hall on Wednesday 10th December from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not join us for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat? Whether you come along regularly or are new to this venture, we look forward to seeing you there.

TEA / COFFEE & CAKES AFTER SERVICE ON 7TH DECEMBER The Sunday Club and FYF invite you to join us for coffee/tea and cakes in the hall after the morning service on Sunday 7th December. Donations will be welcomed towards the support of Natalia, the young teenage girl we sponsor in Guatemala. If you do not have time to stay for coffee or tea, we will be glad to give you cakes to take away and enjoy at your leisure. And if you do not want the cakes, we would be very grateful for a donation nonetheless! Thank you for your support.

ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS SERVICES All services during advent and Christmas will be held in the Church.

GUILD Tomorrow is our Guild Christmas Meal at the Priory Hotel, Beauly. We hope to leave Conon/Maryburgh about 12 noon to be at the hotel by 12.30pm. The rate is £7.95 for two courses (£9.95 for three!) Look forward to seeing you all there!

On Thursday 4th December, a visit to Cameron House is planned leaving here at 1pm for 2pm at home. Please make sure your name is on that list if you want to go.

SOUP LUNCH The next soup lunch takes place in the church hall at 12noon on Friday 5th December 2014. If you haven’t managed along before, why not join us? We start with a short time of devotions, followed by some home-made soup, tea and biscuits and the chance to chat together. We are to be entertained by the Ben Wyvis Primary School Choir that day so a good response would be appreciated and we look forward to seeing you there.

Miriam Singers Rosskeen Church Hall is the venue; date is 8th December; time is 7.30pm. “Carols by Candlelight” hosted by Rosskeen Guild and featuring the Miriam Singers and Iain’s Boys with “Welcome the Christ Child”. Everyone is very welcome to an evening of fun and fellowship with the Christmas message not forgotten. Refreshments to follow. Donation at door. See you there!

BLYTHSWOOD Do remember there is a large red bin at the rear door of the Church to place any unwanted goods for the charity to sell. No need to trail into Dingwall or Evanton to donate. You can do it right here.

Volunteers sought Carols, torchlight procession, mince pies and general jollity. Ferintosh Parish Church, along with members of the Scouting movement, Conon Bridge Community Council, Amenities Association, Ben Wyvis School (we hope) and others, will be participating in the Conon Christmas lights illumination event this year. After the Christmas tree lights are switched on at the war memorial at 6.00 pm on Saturday 6th December, those attending will come down to the Church Hall for mince pies and the like.  Volunteers are sought to attend the Church Hall at 5.00 pm to put out tables, boil up the water and help serve teas etc.  If you can help please either contact Roderick Urquhart on 863845, or turn up on the evening.

ADVENT REFLECTIONS ALTERnativity are posting Advent Reflections on Facebook from 29th Nov. Hopefully, they will provide a little food for thought as we head towards Christmas Day. They can be found at
