Church News Sunday 7th December

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet at 10am on Wednesday 10th December in the hall. All are welcome to come and join us.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM Do contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), if you feel we could help you. Please allow time for arrangements to be made if you need to be taken to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The members are studying Christian Aid material Advent Studies. We meet each Wednesday in the Church Hall at 1.30pm for approximately an hour. The study next to be looked at is Isaiah 35:1-10 and has an emphasis on Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory. We hope this will help us to look at this season in a different way. Do come along, you’d be most welcome.

COMMUNITY CHOIR The Community Choir has now stopped until the New Year.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Café takes place in the church hall on Wednesday 10th December from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not join us for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat? Whether you come along regularly or are new to this venture, we look forward to seeing you there.

SUNDAY TEA ROTA There is a new Sunday Tea Rota available and if you feel you can take a turn to make the tea/coffee following Morning Worship, please add your name beside the relevant date. The list can be found on the notice board in the hall. With numbers increasing, you may find it easier to work with another person. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Janet Murray. Many thanks.

TEA / COFFEE & CAKES AFTER MORNING SERVICE TODAY The Sunday Club and FYF invite you to join us for coffee/tea and cakes in the hall after this morning’s service. Donations will be welcomed towards the support of Natalia, the young teenage girl we sponsor in Guatemala. If you do not have time to stay for coffee or tea, we will be glad to give you cakes to take away and enjoy at your leisure. And if you do not want the cakes, we would be very grateful for a donation nonetheless! Thank you for your support.

MIRIAM SINGERS Rosskeen Church Hall is the venue; date is tomorrow 8th December; time is 7.30pm. “Carols by Candlelight” hosted by Rosskeen Guild and featuring the Miriam Singers and Iain’s Boys with “Welcome the Christ Child”. Everyone is very welcome to an evening of fun and fellowship with the Christmas message not forgotten. Refreshments to follow. Donation at door. See you there!

ADVENT REFLECTIONS ALTERnativity are posting Advent Reflections on Facebook. Hopefully, they will provide a little food for thought as we head towards Christmas Day. They can be found at You might be surprised at the reflections, like eating chocolate!

STORAGE TINS Following recent social events in the hall, we seem to have amassed a collection of storage tins and serving plates. If you wish to reclaim yours, they can be found in the small hall.

FLOWER QUIZ The winner of the Flower Quiz is Mrs Pauline Jezewski. Answers to the quiz can be found on the hall noticeboard. Thanks to all who entered. The sum of £160 has been raised for church funds.
