Church News Sunday 18th January

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. As always there is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP The prayer group will meet again on Wednesday 21st January at 10am in the small hall.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM If you need our help, please contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and we will make every effort to be of assistance.

GUILD There will be an extra meeting of the Guild tomorrow Monday 19th January at 2pm in 17 Muirden Road, Maryburgh. We hope to enjoy the DVD of the Guild National Meeting which took place in Dundee at the beginning of September. All are very welcome to attend. Look forward to seeing you there.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday 21st January in the Church Hall at 1.30pm. We will continue to examine “Evangelism – a Way of Life”. All ladies are most welcome to come along. Study guides priced £3.50 are still available.

SOUPER SUNDAY There will be a Kirk Session led service on the morning of 25th January. This will highlight the work of the Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS programme throughout the world. The service will be followed by a simple soup and bread lunch in the Church Hall when there will be an opportunity to donate to this worthy cause.

There are Gift Aid envelopes at the back of the Church today if you would like to take one away and place your donation for next week in it so that tax can be reclaimed by the Church of Scotland.

SUNDAY TEA ROTA There is a new list available for this. If you feel you can help on an occasional basis, please add your name to the list in the hall. You may find it easier to work with another person. Many thanks.

CAKE TINS Following recent social events in the church, we seem to have acquired a collection of cake boxes and storage tins. These can be found in the small room in the hall. Please have a look and see if you recognise any familiar containers…..

USED STAMPS If, like me, you are clearing up after Christmas, please remember to save any foreign or UK stamps for the World Mission council appeal. Perforations must be intact, and a margin of half an inch around the stamp(s) is preferred if possible. The recipient of the money raised in 2015 has not yet been posted on the WMC website, but as soon as I have this information, I will let you know. Janet Winchester.
