Church news Sunday 26th November

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning. Sunday Club are going to visit Wyvis House care home on Sunday 3rd December at 2pm to play the bells and give out chocolates to the residents.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church all. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE The team is willing to lend a hand. Contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and assistance can be arranged. Remember to allow time for arrangements to be put in place.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Wednesdays at 1.30pm in the Church hall is when the group meets for approximately an hour. We will be looking towards the birth of Jesus in our Advent studies. Why not come along? You’d be most welcome.

DECEMBER SOUP LUNCH The next soup lunch will be held in the Church hall on Friday 1st December at 12 noon. The lunch will be organised by the Guild, and all proceeds will go to the Guild’s project for this session, Concern for the Family. Guild members who have not yet signed up to help, please see the list on the table at the back of the Church, or contact Janet Winchester (01349 865308).

CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING There is to be a Coffee Morning in the Church hall on Saturday 2nd December from 10am – 12 noon. Christmas Stalls will include decorations, crafts, baking and produce, gift tags and a few other surprises. At the teas, we will be serving scones, pancakes and shortbread, so any donations of those bakes would be most welcome. Entry is by donation with proceeds going to help purchase a wheelchair and blankets for the Church. The hall will be open between 6.30pm – 7.30pm on Friday 1st December to receive any donations and then again from 8.30am onwards on the day of the event. Please add your name to the list at the back of the Church if you can help with baking and on the day. Many thanks. Janet Murray.
GUILD The Christmas Lunch will take place on Monday 4th December at the Cottage Bar, Maryburgh. Members and guests are asked to arrive at the Cottage at 12.30pm for 1pm. This should be a great time of fellowship. See you there!

KIRK SESSION The next meeting of the Kirk Session will be on Thursday 7th December at 7.00pm and it will meet in the Church Hall. Minutes and Agendas are available to uplift now. Elders who get their Minutes and Agenda by email should have received them by now.  Members of the congregation are welcome to attend Kirk Session Meetings as observers but are not allowed to contribute to any discussions that take place unless invited to do so by the Chairperson. Also, from time to time observers may be asked to leave a meeting if any items of Restricted Business are on the Agenda.

Members of the Kirk Session are asked to stay behind for a few moments at the end of this mornings service for a short meeting in the Church Annexe.

Highland Foodbank Try to add one or two items for the foodbank to your weekly shop. It makes such a difference to the lives of people who struggle to make ends meet. Ideas of what is required are on the leaflet in the annex of the Church. Thank you for your continuing generosity.

Rev’d Russel Smith can be contacted on 861011 if required for any Pastoral duties.
