Church News Sunday 14th January

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE Please don’t hesitate to call on the team for help. Either contact your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and we will do our very best to assist. Please allow time for arrangements to be made to take you to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The group meets on Wednesday 17th January at 1.30pm in the Church Hall. We hope to begin a six week study programme entitled “Living a Life of True Worship”. Each study last 40 minutes and it is anticipated that all the group’s participants will complete each study lesson’s activities at the same time while we are together. A slightly different approach to try out. Please, why not give it a try. The group members would love to have you with us. Do come along even if you can’t commit to every week.

KIRK SESSION The Kirk Session will meet at 7.00pm on Thursday 18th January in the Church Hall. Minutes and agendas are available to uplift now. Elders who have elected to receive them by email should now have them.

SOUPER SUNDAE On Sunday 21st January we will celebrate Souper Sundae, in support of the Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS Programme and those infected and affected in this country and throughout the world. A soup and sweet lunch will be served in the Church hall after the service, with donations invited for the HIV/AIDS Programme.  Soup, bread and desserts will be required, as well as help to participate in the service (reading parts of a prepared script), and in the kitchen and the hall. Please put you name on the list on the table at the back of the Church, or speak to Janet Winchester (01349 865308), if you can help in any way.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Please donate to this worthy cause. Place donations of non-perishable food, toiletries and even pet food in the basket in the annex. Your help makes such a difference to people who are struggling to make ends meet in our local area.

WORLD MISSION COUNCIL NEWSLETTER Copies of the latest edition are available on the table at the back of the Church. It includes information about the Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS Programme, which we will be celebrating on Souper Sundae (see separate intimation). Please take one. I apologise that I missed inserting copies into Life and Work at the end of last month.

LEPROSY MISSION SCOTLAND There are a couple of copies of the Leprosy Mission Scotland Prayer diary on the table at the back of the Church. Please take one. If further copies are required, please speak to Janet Winchester.

PASTORAL DUTIES Rev’d Russel Smith can be contacted on 861011 if required for any Pastoral duties.
