Church News Sunday 28th January

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE Please don’t hesitate to call on the team for help. Either contact your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and we will do our very best to assist. Please allow time for arrangements to be made to take you to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The next meeting of the group will be held on January 31st at 1.30pm in the Church Hall. We will continue with the stand-alone studies entitled ” Living a Life of True Worship”. Those who attended last time agreed that it was different but worthwhile. Please give serious thought to joining us. You can be assured of a very warm welcome.

GUILD The Guild will meet next on Monday 5th February at 2pm when we will hear from Maggie Brownlee about the work of Bernardo’s Scotland. This is a very welcome topic for the Year of Young People. Do come along to the Church Hall to listen to Maggie and enjoy some fellowship and, of course, a welcome cuppa. Hope to see you there.

SOUP LUNCH The next Soup Lunch takes place in the Church hall on Friday 2nd February at 12 noon. This offers the opportunity to meet up for a chat while enjoying some delicious home-made soup, followed by tea and biscuits. We look forward to welcoming you there.

LOCAL CHURCH REVIEW The Ross Presbytery Local Church Review for Ferintosh Parish Church takes place on the evening of Wednesday 31st January in the Church hall at 7.00pm. The Local Church Review has replaced the Quinquennial visit. Information has been provided to Presbytery by the Kirk Session (copies available at the rear of the Church) and further discussions will take place on the evening of the Review. Members of the congregation are welcome to come attend on the 31st.

SEAFORTH HOUSE The next service which Ferintosh Church is to lead at Seaforth House will be on Sunday 4th February at 3pm. Feel free to come along and join in worship with this community.

BEETLE DRIVE There is to be another Beetle Drive in the Church hall on Saturday 10th February starting at 6.30pm (finishing approx. 9pm). Cost is £1/head for adults and 50p/head for children. Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you at what is always a fun event.

CROSSREACH There are some copies of the latest Newsletter and some Prayer Diaries at the back of the Church. Read about the Intergenerational Initiative at Whinnieknowe Care Home in Nairn and about the Sensory Garden at Cameron House, Inverness and many other interesting articles. Please take one home with you today.

SOUPER SUNDAE Many thanks to all who were involved last Sunday. It was great to have so many offers of help and food, and wonderful to see the hall full. Many people have expressed their appreciation of both the service and the lunch. Donations are still coming in, but to date we have £257, with another £20 or so in tax to be recovered through Gift Aid. Thank you all very much for your generosity.

PASTORAL DUTIES Rev’d Russel Smith can be contacted on 861011 if required for any Pastoral duties.
