Church News Sunday 1st April

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF are taking part in the family service today and will then be on holiday, returning on 22nd April. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE please give the Team a call if you need some help. Contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591), and we will try our best to assist. Remember, if possible, give some notice for taking to appointments.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY The group members are returning to the studies by Precept Ministries in the series “Living a Life of True Worship”. This series is “no homework” Bible studies which are undertaken each week in the hour we have allocated. We meet on Wednesday 4th April in the Church hall at 1.30pm. Please do think about coming along and learning from the scriptures with others.

EASTER DAFFODILS Thanks to everyone who brought daffodils and helped decorate the Church for Easter. The flowers can be uplifted immediately after the 11am service for distribution. If you know of anyone who would appreciate some daffodils from the church please come forward and help yourself to a bunch and uplift a Blessings card. Praise be to the Lord for HE is Risen. .

EVENING SERVICES  Sunday evening services at 6.30pm in the Church hall will start on Sunday 22nd April.

FACEBOOK We now have our own Facebook page with regular updates on what is going on within our Church. Please check it out by searching on Facebook for Ferintosh Parish Church. We would love for it to be shared among the local communities.

CHURCH WEBSITE  The Ferintosh Parish Church website has been updated. Please check it out at ferintoshparishchurch.org.uk

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church hall on Wednesday 11th April from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat? Whether you’re a “regular” or have never managed along before, we look forward to seeing you here. Can you help? Would you be willing to provide some baking on an occasional basis or can you wash dishes? If so, please add your name to the list at the back of the church as your help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

SEAFORTH HOUSE There will be an Easter service of Worship in Seaforth House at 3pm today. As usual any from the congregation are very welcome to join us.

MODERATOR VISIT The Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Right Rev. Dr. Derek Browning, is visiting the Presbytery of Ross from the 21st to 30th April 2018. On the evening of Sunday, 29th April there will be a “Songs of Praise” Service at Strathpeffer Church at 6.30pm for everyone to attend.

GUILD The final meeting for this session of Ferintosh Parish Guild will take place tomorrow Monday 2nd April at 7.30pm (please note this is an evening meeting). The speaker for the evening will be Janette Steele ably assisted by Hugh on “Ultimate Africa”. As you know the Guild is for all – young and old, male and female – no barriers. Even if you are not a Guild member you are warmly invited to hear and see the Steele’s latest talk and pictures. Come along and bring a friend for fellowship and of course a cuppa. Look forward to seeing you there. This will also be the AGM when monies will be allocated and office bearers elected. Don’t miss it!

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Do remember the folk who need to use this facility during the school holidays. A little extra treat for the children would be good but the staples are very much what is required. Put something into your shopping basket for the Foodbank each week, please. It is very much appreciated.

BLYTHSWOOD When you are doing your Spring Clean, don’t forget there is a large red bin for any of your unwanted items to be collected by Blythswood. No need to travel far. Put it in the bin for collection!

PASTORAL DUTIES Rev’d Stephen Macdonald can be contacted on 864273 if required for any Pastoral duties.
