Church News Sunday 6th May

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

BREAKFAST CLUB A new Breakfast Club for children starts today at 1020 to which all nursery and primary children are invited.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued. The small group is very friendly and there is no pressure to pray aloud if you do not wish to.

PASTORAL CARE Remember we are here if you need some help. Give your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349861591), a call and we will try hard to assist.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Pick up an invitation to a 7-week study of Luke and Acts. Using a combination of Bible Reading, DVD teaching, group discussion and prayer, we hope to grow in our understanding of what Luke wrote and how it applies to our lives. Each Wednesday in May and first two in June at 1.30pm in the Church Hall. We hope you can join us to study one quarter of the New Testament! Last week was very much an introduction, so this week starting study one. Still time to join us (Invitations at the back of the Church)

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church Hall on Wednesday 9th May from 2-3.30pm. Why not take the opportunity to relax with a cup of tea/coffee and some home baking, while enjoying the all-important chat? We look forward to seeing you there. If you feel you could help provide some home baking for this on an occasional basis, please add your name to the list at the back of the Church as this would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK – 13TH TO 19TH MAY Preparations well in hand for this occasion of fellowship & fund raising in the Church Hall.  If you have not already volunteered in any way to provide food (perhaps bread & biscuits) please add your name to the lists on the church table.  We would love to welcome you to our ‘team’, helping in the kitchen or service on the day, especially if you are new to the congregation.  Maryburgh Free Church members have also been invited to join us for this special lunch.  Don’t forget to pick up your challenging Quiz sheet; daily devotional booklet for Christian Aid week also available, along with C.A. news.

TEA FOLLOWING MORNING WORSHIP As this is an important part of our Church life, would you consider providing tea and biscuits following Morning Worship on an occasional basis?  It is not necessary to provide baking! If so, can you please add your name to the list in the Church hall. As numbers continue to increase, it could be helpful if 2 people would work together on this. Many thanks.

VISIT OF MODERATOR TO ROSS AND ROSS/TAIN GUILDS Many thanks to all who helped in any way with the very successful visit on Monday 23rd April. Many people have commented how much they enjoyed the evening, and how much they appreciated the welcome from Ferintosh Guild and congregation. The offering for Crossreach’s Morven House project (choice of the Moderator) amounted to £176. Photos of the evening are on the Ferintosh website and Facebook page. Some have also been sent to the Guild office and the Ross-shire Journal.
