Church News Sunday 11th November

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF There is no Sunday Club, FYF or Breakfast Club today. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued.

Informal prayer time before the morning service Come along when you can, leave when you want: for ten seconds or ten minutes. Prayer and reflection time in the hall posh room every Sunday between 10.15 and 10.45am.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY We continue to study the Armour of God using Cover to Cover material by Lynn Penson. We will meet on Wednesday 14th  November in the Church hall at 1.30pm for approximately one hour. Finishing study six and moving on to study seven entitled “Words of Power” is our aim for that date. The ladies are very welcoming and would love you to join them at this time of study in God’s word.

PASTORAL CARE  If you need some help either at home or to be taken to an appointment, contact the Team. This can be by your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349 861591). We will make a big effort to be of assistance.

River Café The next River Café takes place in the Church hall on Wednesday 14th November from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not drop in for some tea/coffee, home baking and the all important chat? We look forward to seeing you there. If you would be willing to contribute some home baking for this, please add your name to the list at the back of the church. Your help would be gratefully appreciated.

FERINTOSH FOCUS The next edition of the Ferintosh Focus will be published in early December. All articles must be with the Editor by Friday 30th November.

RETIRING COLLECTION There will be retiring collections at both services today for the Earl Haig fund.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Rev Susan Brown, Moderator of the General Assembly, has been visiting quite a few foodbanks in various parts of our country and we agree with her that they do a great job but it would be wonderful if there was no need for them. Unfortunately, for the time being, foodbanks are so necessary! Your donations make a real difference to the lives of people in the Highlands. Please donate as generously as you can because, as food is donated by you, it is immediately given to those in need and more is required. Thank you.

GUILD Many thanks to all who helped in any way with the soup lunch on Friday 2nd November, and to all who attended and donated for the Seamen’s Mission project. To date donations total £170.

Lists are available at the back of the Church for several forthcoming events, namely:

  • Invitation to Guild Week afternoon tea by St Clements Guild Friday 23rd November at 2.30pm in St Clements’ hall.
  • Ferintosh Guild Christmas lunch Monday 10th December at 12 for 12.30 in the Cottage Bar.
  • Invitation to a Christmas social afternoon by Castle Street Guild Wednesday 19th December at 2.30pm in Castle Street hall.

CRECHE Many thanks to the two ladies who have painted and varnished the crèche furniture. Have a look in and see how smart it now looks!

CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING There is to be a Coffee Morning with Christmas Stalls in the Church hall on Saturday 1st December from 10am-12 noon. Entry is by Donation, with proceeds going to Church and Community Activities. There will be a variety of stalls, which will include Crafts, Christmas Decorations, Baking and Produce, Books and many more surprises.

The hall will be open on Friday 30th November from 7pm-8pm to receive any contributions and on Saturday morning from 8.30am onwards. Help would be appreciated at this event and there is a list at the back of the Church for names etc. We look forward to seeing you there!
