Church News Sunday 3rd November

SUNDAY CLUB AND FYF Sunday Club and FYF meet today at 10.50am. There is a Crèche for pre-school children each Sunday morning. The Youth Club will meet fortnightly on 15th and 29th November and 13th December.

BREAKFAST CLUB Breakfast Club for nursery and primary children is today at 10.20am.

PRAYER GROUP Prayer meetings continue on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Church hall. Prayer is the essential powerhouse of the Church and your participation would be greatly valued.

KIRK SESSION The next meeting of the Kirk Session will be on Thursday 7th November at 7.00pm and it will meet in the Church Hall. Minutes and Agendas are available to uplift now.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY Next meeting will be on Wednesday 6th November in the Church Hall at 1.30pm. The studies are entitled, “Vital Christianity” and I’m sure will be of such relevance to our lives today. Why not try to come along? Even if you can’t commit to every week we’d love you to come along. The studies are looking at 2Timothy and Titus. Do pick an invitation from the back of the Church for further details.

PASTORAL CARE TEAM  Do give us a call if you need some help. We will try our very best to be of assistance. Either contact your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349861591). Remember to allow time to arrange to be taken to appointments.

BUNDLES OF FUN For all parents/carers, babies + toddlers, every Thursday in the hall from 1pm-2:30pm. Come along and relax over a cup of tea/coffee whilst you watch the children play.

SERMON THEME Over the next two Sunday Mornings we will look at the theme of prayer with the title, ‘The 4 shortest Bible prayers with largest possible request’. This will take us up to the Remembrance Service on Sunday 10th November.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY Next Sunday, 10th November, we meet at the Church hall at 10:45am before walking up to the War Memorial for a short act of worship and to observe the 2 minute silence at 11am. The Church service begins at 11:15am. Everyone very welcome.

FLOWER CALENDAR The proposed Flower Rota for 2020 is available on the table at the back of the church. Please check your name against the date/s and if there are any corrections please let Jeannette Cameron know. 01463 870416. There is one space available at the moment in November and you can enter your name if you would like to be involved.  There is also a Flower Fund should you wish to contribute.

GUILD The next meeting of the Guild will be held tomorrow 4th November at 2pm in the Church Hall. The talk entitled “My Year as Moderator” will be delivered by Very Rev Dr Susan Brown and all are very welcome to come along to hear Susan even if you are not a Guild member but would just love to hear her talk. There will be a “Bring and Buy” stall at this meeting in aid of the Guild Project. We look forward to many from our congregation and community coming along. Remember all – male female, young and older – are welcome

LIFE AND WORK MAGAZINE If anyone would like to start getting Life and Work magazine next year, please put your name on the list at the back of the church. The cost is £33.60 for the year and this is payable at the end of January. There is a copy of this month’s magazine at the back of the church to have a look at.

RIVER CAFÉ The next River Cafe takes place in the Church Hall on Wednesday 13th November from 2pm-3.30pm. Why not join us for some tea/coffee, home bakes and the chance to have a catch up with friends, or even make some new ones? As some of our “regular bakers” are unable to attend this time, can you help by providing some home baking for this event? If so, can you please add your name to the list at the back of the church. Your help would be most appreciated. Many thanks. We look forward to welcoming you there.

COFFEE MORNING There is to be a Coffee Morning in the Church Hall on Saturday 30th November from 10am-12 midday. Entry is by donation with proceeds going to Church and Community Activities. Teas will be provided. There will be a variety of stalls including Christmas Decorations and Gifts, Crafts, Baking/Produce, Books and many more surprises and bargains! (No bric-a-brac)! The hall will be set up on Friday 29th at 2.30pm and will also be open from 6pm-7pm to receive any donations for the teas and sales tables. The hall will  again be open from 08.30am on the Saturday for contributions. There is a list at the back of the church for names and details of how you can help with this event. Please add your name as your help and support would be most welcome at this church/community event. We look forward to seeing you there.

HIGHLAND FOODBANK Your generosity continues to amaze. All non-perishable food and toiletries are very necessary and are so helpful to those in most need. Thank you.

BEN WYVIS SCHOOL GARDENING CLUB The school are looking for volunteers to help with their gardening club. This is not a big commitment and it is an opportunity to pass on some of our gardening skills. If you are interested in helping please speak to the minister for more information.
