LADIES BIBLE STUDY We are going back to the beginning as a certain song says, “a very good place to start!” This session we are looking at the book of Genesis. This week, 15th January, the study is entitled “The Beginning of Humanity”. The material is BookbyBook, the Joy of Meeting Jesus in All the Scriptures, and the DVD each week Anne Graham-Lotz, daughter of Billy Graham, is in discussion about the relevancy of the Book of Genesis today. We meet each Wednesday at 1.30pm for approximately an hour in the Church Hall. Do come along to try the group out. Don’t worry if you can’t make it every week. Details are on the invitation on the table at the back of the Church.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM Do give us a call if you need some assistance. Contact either your elder or the coordinator, Janette Steele (01349861591), and we will make every effort to help.
BUNDLES OF FUN For all parents/carers, babies + toddlers, every Thursday in the hall from 1pm-2:30pm. Come along and relax over a cup of tea/coffee whilst you watch the children play.
SOUPER SUNDAE Next Sunday, 19th January we will be celebrating Souper Sundae, in support of the Church of Scotland HIV/AIDS programme, with a soup and sweet lunch after the service. If you can provide soup, bread/oatcakes or a sweet, or if you are able to help in any way on the day, please add your name to the list on the table at the back of the Church.
WORLD MISSION COUNCIL NEWSLETTER Those who subscribe to “Life and Work” should have received newsletters with their January magazines. There are a few spare copies on the table at the back of the Church for anyone interested to take away.
USED STAMPS I hope you have remembered to save your stamps over the festive season. Please put them in the red box in the Annexe for the World Mission Council Used Stamp Appeal, now in its 50th year. Perforations must be intact, and a margin of half an inch round the stamp is preferred. It is helpful if UK and foreign stamps can be separated.
HIGHLAND FOODBANK Yet another report has come out this week indicating the desperate need of some families and individuals who worry about where the next meal is going to come from. A high percentage of those in need it is due to illness or loss of job. Please help by adding one or two items to your shopping list and donating. There is a box in the annex for you to leave them and they are taken regularly to the foodbank. Thank you so much for your continuing generosity.
KIRK SESSION The next meeting of the Kirk Session will be this Thursday, 16th January at 7.00pm and it will meet in the Church Hall. Minutes and Agendas should be available to uplift now. Elders who get their Minutes and Agenda by email should hopefully have received them by now. If they have not arrived, please contact the Session Clerk.
GUILD VISIT TO WYVIS HOUSE The Guild is planning a visit to Wyvis House on Friday 17th January at 2pm. Anyone interested is more than welcome to join us for this visit.
